The Tūpuna Maunga Authority operational team have completed a series of site inspections yesterday and this morning. Minimal damage has occurred following the weather event that began on the morning of Tuesday 9 May 2023. The site inspections have taken into considertion earlier damage caused by the Jan/Feb floods and Cyclone Gabrielle.

The table below outlines the Tūpuna Maunga that will need minor remediation. All other Maunga having little to no damage from this weather event. We will provide further updates as substantive changes occur.

Waterlogged at Mount Hobson Lane and Dilworth Avenue entrances. Slips: Minor scouring. Polythene sheets near Remuera Road will be repaired.

Tītīkōpuke / Te Kōpuke / Mt St John

Major water scouring on Market Road. Minor scouring on box steps from Mt Royal entrance.

Te Pane o Mataoho / Te Ara Pueru / Māngere Mountain

Aggregate washed from track onto sports club carpark. Track to be repaired.
